Christmas shopping online is a great way to get things done. Searching online for the newest hot toy, games, or electronics is a something we all do…so why not do some good, too.

Here’s an easy way to raise money for Elk Valley Christian School. Just start using Yahoo! powered as your search engine and they’ll donate about a penny to your favorite cause every time you do a search! Find Elk Valley Christian School as your charity and then start searching!

In addition, do all of your shopping through their online shopping mall,, where you can shop at more than 2,600 top online retailers and a percentage of your purchases will go to the charity or school of your choice. You pay the same price as you normally would, but a donation goes to Elk Valley Christian School!

You can also enroll in the Gooddining program. Eat at over 10,000 participating restaurants nationwide and you can earn up to 6% of every dollar spent on the meal as a donation for your charity or school.

Here’s the web site — . You can also read about Goodsearch in the NY Times, Oprah Magazine, CNN, ABC News and the Wall Street Journal.

We need volunteers to help count laps. If you can help, please contact Amy French in the school office.

Parents are welcome to come and encourage students during the Walk-A-Thon. Parents may walk with their child. Any student who has been warned for running more than once is disqualified from receiving an award for his or her grade.

Each class is responsible for providing nutritious snacks and drinks for the students after the scheduled walking time. Please check with your child’s teacher or homeroom parent as to what to send for the class.

Students may change into sweatpants or KNEE-LENGTH shorts for the Walk-A-Thon (not required to change).  However, if they do not meet the requirements, they may be required to change back into their regular school dress to walk.  Don’t forget your “walking” shoes!
