News & Updates

This week at EVCS

Lots of things are going on this week and the next few weeks at Elk Valley. Read on for more details and updates.

  •  The Scholastic Book Fair started today (Monday) and will continue through Friday. It is open to parents and students 9:30 am to 3:30 pm each day and extended hours on Wednesday until 6:00 pm. Tuesday, the elementary students can dress up in their favorite “Wild West” gear. Cowboy, cowgirl, Indian, buffalo soldier, guild rush miner, etc. NO WEAPONS—pretend or real. No spears, arrows, knives, guns, etc.


  • The secondary students (grades 6-12) will have a dress down day on Thursday, wearing school colors/school spirit-wear. The cost is $2 (goes towards Student Council fund).


  • Lost and Found is getting full with lots of jackets. Be sure to check it out soon for any left-behind jackets and other items. It is located outside the school office next to the water fountain.


  • School picture orders are due by Wednesday, October 23. Please turn into the school office. If you only want a yearbook photo, you can pick which pose. If you do not pick, then pose “A” will be the default selection for the yearbook.


  • The secondary students (grades 6-12) will be going to the Milton Corn Maze on Wednesday, October 23. The cost is $10. See the permission slip for more details.


  • The end of the 1st nine-weeks grade period is Monday, October 21. Report cards will be sent home with students on Thursday, October 24. NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 25.


  • Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church is once again having Judgment Island. Group reservations dates are October 24-26. Contact the church office for reservations (304-965-7062). Open to the public October 31-November 2.


  • We are still take crafters and vendors registrations for the Fall Festival, November 9.  Forms are available in the church vestibule and the school office. Cost is $25/space and $5 more if need a table or electricity. Extra flyers to share with your family, church, and friends are available in the school office.
